I heard this profound quote from a school chaplain: “A child who is loved at home comes to school to learn. A child who doesn’t know love at home comes to school to find it.”

Wow. When you see children misbehaving, acting out, seeking attention, it could very well be that they are seeking love. They are seeking it through all the wrong methods, but bad attention is better than no attention.
It changes the way I want to discipline children.
But what about adults, at work? An adult starved of love will seek it in all the wrong places. Attention seeking behaviour, control, addictions. You can’t fulfill people’s desire for love – but if this is you, you are the one looking for love. Quit looking in all the wrong places.
There’s only One whose love is deep enough to satisfy. God. Seek him.
