Ahead of Anzac Day later this month, the National Archives of Australia have published on online exhibition of 41 photgraphs of Anzac Beach and its surrounds, taken in 1915 by three young servicemen: George Downes, Arthur James Cook and Henry James Lowe. After World War l, all three men – among 60 chosen to form the First Railway Supply Detachment, 11th AASC – went on to serve in France, England and the Middle East, before returning to Australia.
