We keep wondering, worrying, if robots or AI will become conscious, and what that will mean. We’ve wondered about that for years, but it seems close.

Yet there’s another group of beings who have been with us for much longer than computers, whom we never seem to consider or care if they will be become conscious, who have a much greater chance to do it since they are biologically the same as us – animals.
Why do we assume they will never make this consciousness leap? Dogs and cats watch us all the time. Could they learn? Is their biology limiting?
Maybe it’s because cats watch us they think, “glad I don’t over think things like these clowns!”
We’re worried about computers out thinking us – but we can’t imagine a cat doing it. Interesting.
