Christians often say, “God has a plan for your life”. It’s supposed to bring hope and comfort, but also excitement that my life is meant for greatness.

I’ve spent a lot of time with people, and after you’ve been through death, divorce, job loss, sickness, etc, that line can seem pretty hollow. ‘Is this God’s plan for my life, or did I stuff up and get left behind?’
Very few people get through life unscathed!
I think it’s better to say – “God has a plan for life. A big, messy, incomprehensible plan for the redemption of a broken world – find your place in that plan. And hold on; it can be a bumpy ride – but the ending is worth it.”
Look at Jesus. He was at the centre of God’s great big plan – He did not get through unscathed!
