Be informed. Be challenged. Be inspired.

Your child’s village

You know the saying, “it takes a village to raise a child”? Who is in your child’s village? You can populate the village – don’t think it will happen by itself, you need to make sure you have a great group around your children.

Supporting your child’s teachers is important to your child’s upbringing, says Paul Clark. PICTURE: Nimito/iStockphoto.

Their teacher – who you get to know and support, not complain to; listen to and support.

Sports coach. Children’s pastor. Dance instructor. Grandma and grandpa. Uncle and aunt. Maybe a godparent.

Be proactive in building a team who will help you bring up your child. As parents do it for one another.

Appreciate them. Value them. Talk to them from time-to-time.

What if every child had a team around them who wanted to see them flourish?
