The Australian Christian Lobby has welcomed news of a Senate inquiry into the impact of pornography on children.
The inquiry, which has the backing of both the government and opposition, will look at the harm being done to Australian children through access to internet pornography.
Lyle Shelton, managing director of the ACL, said there is “mounting evidence” pornography is having a “profound impact” on children. “It is imperative that we stop the intergenerational damage this is causing…” he said.
Mr Shelton said that pornography was having a “significant impact” on children and their ability to develop “wholesome relationships leading in many cases to teen domestic violence”.
The closing date for submissions is 10th March, next year. The committee will report its finding in December next year.
