The number of people who ‘like’ the United Bible Societies’ ‘Digital Bible’ page on Facebook has passed 10 million.
The page, which combines Scripture verses on the major themes of the Bible with visual images, is managed by 12 volunteers from every content who manage ministry aspects like personal prayer and counselling done through the site.
More than half a million people engage with the site every day, making it one of the top Christian social media pages in the world.
Adrian White, chief operating officer of UBS – a network of more Bible societies from more than 200 countries and territories around the world, says the page’s popularity is due to its provision of Bible verses that address God’s answers for human needs.
The page was started by the Bible Society of New Zealand in 2009. Verses are today posted on the site in five languages – English, Afrikaans, French, German and Tagalog.
Later this year, the site will introduce live meetings of followers to honour and celebrate God together.
