Global TV audience of up to a billion join with tens of thousands in Sydney to watch re-enactment of last days of Jesus Christ

About 80 performers took part in the three hour Stations of the Cross on Friday as part of the World Youth Day celebrations. The re-enactment took place over 13 stages – starting with the Last Supper and culminating with Jesus’ body being brought down from the cross – at a range of venues across Sydney’s CBD. It’s based on a tradition started by early Christian pilgrims when visiting Jerusalem. Photographer RAMON WILLIAMS caught some of the action on Sydney’s streets…
